Pocket Processes – Many Options for Selections


OVERVIEW

Of all the machining processes in ONGAA CAM, Pockets have the largest number of ways to select geometry. This is primarily due to the way WoodWOP requires pockets to be defined.  WW requires a length, a width, an angle of rotation, a depth, an X & Y coordinate to locate the centre of the pocket and a radius for corner rounding.

ONGAA CAM can acquire this information by one of the following selection:

  • selecting just the bottom of a pocket
  • selecting edges for length, width, depth and the top face
  • selecting edges for corner radius, length, width, depth and the top face
  • selecting upper and lower edges of a round pocket and the top face
  • selecting a sketch, an edge for depth and a top face
  • selecting a top face an edge for depth and the ‘all pockets on face option’

ONGAA CAM gets more MULTI options and easier to use.

Making ONGAA CAM easier to use and save even more of your valuable time has been the focus of the design team over the past few months and it has paid off. ONGAA CAM now provides an even easier and faster way to add machining to models.

  • Drill all vertical holes on a FACE with a single ONGAA CAM process.
  • Create all vertical pockets on a FACE or SKETCH with a single ONGAA CAM process.
  • Create all polygon pockets on a SKETCH with a single ONGAA CAM process.

 

VDRILLdetailsVertical drills and Vertical pockets both provide Min/Max criteria to allow smart WoodWOP process creation when using faces as the source of the geometry.

Whats New in ONGAA CAM

New User Features

 

Since ONGAA CAM was first introduced the design team have been working hard to incorporate new features requested by our users.  Here we try to highlight whats new in ONGAA CAM’s recent releases.

 

ONGAA CAM for Biesse – Nesting is now available.

With the release of 1.3.12 of ONGAA CAM for Biesse, the nesting option is available.  The nesting module provides nesting of assemblies on to multiple sheets with automatic part separation (onto different sheet) by material name and material thickness.  Individual sheets sizes can be selected for different materials making batching of parts unnecessary for most operation.   8 predefined layout algorithms provide fast layout alternatives while still being able to apply grain direction rules.

Unlike Biesseworks nesting,  ONGAA CAM uses the assembly as the definition of what is nested.  ONGAA CAM ignores parts which have not been programmed i.e. hardware or prefab parts.
