ONGAA CAM Update/Upgrade Process

The following are the Step-By-Step procedures to download and update ONGAA CAM.

Checking for Updates

Versions 1.3.x and prior:

With your favorite browser go to the previously supplied ‘Ongaa Cam Support’ Portal URL.  Please contact support@ongsolutions.ca if you do not have the information.

In the browser, click the most recent ONGAA CAM update .exe file.

Copy or move the file from downloads to c:\ongaacam_install_tmp folder.   (See Note below)

** NOTE **   Different version of ONGAA CAM have different installation folders.  Use which ever folder is currently available

Version 1.4.x and newer

Open SolidWorks and open a part (or new Part file) and activate the ONGAA CAM Add-In is not already activated.

Click on the About icon.

The About ONGAA CAM window will open.

Click the Check for updates link

If an update is available, you will be informed and the download location will also be indicated.

The download will proceed on clicking OK.  Please note the progress bar in green complete before the successful message will appear.  Do not click OK or close the the about window during the transfer.

Updating ONGAA CAM

The update process will first uninstall and then reinstall the program. In order to ensure user settings are set correctly this process must be run logged in as the SolidWorks user.

Locate the downloaded file in Windows Explorer

Right click the file and select Run as Administrator

If authorization is required, enter the administrator credentials.

If confirmation is required, respond Yes to allow program to make changes.

Click Next

Click Next

A black window will appear indicating progress of unregistering the modules.  No action is required.

Click OK to continue with the uninstall.

A short delay may occur while the system creates a system restore point for the uninstall.

Click Next

Leave the default values and  Click Next

Click Next

A short delay may occur while the system creates a system restore point for the install.

Wait for the installation to complete.

Click  Close

Press the spacebar to close the black installation window if needed.

The Update/Upgrade is complete.

Open a Part or New Part in SolidWorks.  Activate ONGAA CAM is needed in the Options–> Add-ins menu

If all Icons appear as below, no further action is required.

If only one icon appears as shown below, the SolidWorks command bar will require refreshing.

Close Solidworks completely. In Windows Explorer go to the c:\ongaacam_install_tmp folder.  (Same location as the update folder was run from)

Double click FixToolbarSW13-24.reg

Click Yes to continue.

Click ok one complete

Next locater REG64.Bat in the folder.  Right click and Run as Administrator

Press the spacebar to close the black command screen and reopen SolidWorks.  Open a part as above to verify the icons all appear in the command manager.
